PITUITARY SURGERY
Dr. Shahlaie is an expert in endoscopic endonasal resection of pituitary tumors and other pathologies in and around the pituitary gland.

Dr. Shahlaie has extensive experience performing brain tumor surgery.
SKULL BASE SURGERY
Dr. Shahlaie is Co-Director of the Center for Skull Base Surgery. He works closely with colleagues in ENT/Head & Neck Surgery, Plastics Surgery, Opthalmology, Radiation Oncology, and Medical Oncology to treat patients with complex pathologies of the skull base region.
TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA and HEMIFACIAL SPASM
Minimally invasive "keyhole" surgery for trigeminal neuralgia, with endoscopic and microscopic techniques.
EPILEPSY SURGERY
Dr. Shahlaie is fellowship trained in epilepsy surgery, and is Director of the Bronte Epilepsy Research Program at UC Davis. Dr. Shahlaie performs a variety of epilepsy operations:
- vagal nerve stimulator implantation (VNS)
- responsive neurostimulator implantation (RNS)
- intracranial electrode placement for EEG monitoring
- temporal lobectomy with amygdalohippocampectomy

DEEP BRAIN STIMULATION SURGERY
Dr. Shahlaie is Co-Director of the Deep Brain Stimulation Program at UC Davis. He regularly performs DBS procedures for:
- Parkinson's disease
- Essential tremor
- Dystonia (blepharospasm, torticollis, etc)
